In 1801, German astronomer Johann Bode published his celestial atlas, titled Uranographia, comprised of 20 star maps and a catalog of 17,240 stars and nebulae. With its publication, Bode introduced a brand new constellation to honour Johannes Gutenberg's invention of moveable letterpress type.
