Manuports

£5.00

A manuport is a natural object, typically moved by human hands, that has been intentionally removed from its original environment and relocated without undergoing any modification or artificial shaping.

Manuports that were collected, transported and deposited by early-human hominins living millions of years ago give us a unique glimpse into the history of our ancestors. Examples include a pebble with a face, a shell shaped like a penis, and gemstones used as gifts.

This research presents four examples of these precious objects moved by ancient hands.
