Pilgrim Badges Poster

£8.00

Souvenir badges collected from pilgrimages made in the Middle Ages, dating between the 13th-16th century. Made from pewter or tin and worn proudly on coats, hats and shawls, the badge designs can range between religious, secular, political and humorous. Pilgrims would collect badges as a sign of having completed the difficult journey, and to carry good luck and protection with them.
